There are numerous recommendations and reforms that have been suggested by the various committees set up by the government from time to time as well as independent researchers and NGOs to reform the Police forces and their working in India. However, they have all been far from implementation for one or the reason and we take up the challenge to prepare a practical model which may be implemented to address some of the issues concerning the Police force.
I am listing down some of the most common causes of dissatisfaction with Police, and request all of you to pour in your comments/suggestions on how to address them:
.Principal violators of law; get away with impunity
.Anti-social bonding; selective enforcement of law
.Corruption, inhuman & derogatory behavior and Contempt of court orders
.Violate equality subject to political influence, socio-economic status and economic power of the approaching party
.Ignorant or disregard human rights in operations
.Dismal record of prevention & investigation
.Lack of accountability in protecting life & property
.Crimes getting sophisticated; police still unprofessional
.Criminalization of politics; illegitimate nexus
